Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park
You will be picked up at your hotel and start your approximate two-hour journey to the Tarangire National Park. The park, with its savannah, seasonal swamps and baobab trees, is well known for its large number of elephant herds. During the dry seasons the Tarangire River, being one of the main sources of water in the area, attract various animals, such as bushbucks, hartebeests, and giraffes from not only the park itself but the neighboring Lake Manyara National Park. After an extensive game drive, enjoyed from the open roof of the vehicle, you will leave the park and travel to a nearby campsite, where you will overnight.
Day 2 Tarangire Area – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
An early start is on the agenda today as you make your way to the Ngorongoro Crater. Once you have reached the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will descend down an adventurous path into the 600m caldera. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, this massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25 000 mammals such as spotted hyenas and the “Big Five” – elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion. You will enjoy lunch at a picnic spot inside the crater, before continuing your search for wildlife still unseen. In the afternoon you will leave the conservation area and head back to Arusha.
